TechnBrains developed four connected freight applications that replaced disconnected quotation, tracking, document and payment processes with automated pricing, carrier assignment, GPS tracking, digital proof of delivery and shipment-based settlement rules.
Lulo Freight is a Texas-based freight marketplace connecting shippers with verified carriers and drivers.
The platform supports freight quotations, load posting, carrier selection, pickup, transportation tracking, delivery documentation and settlement.
TechnBrains developed connected shipper, carrier, driver and administrator experiences to manage these activities through a shared load record.
Different pickup locations, delivery schedules, freight weights and load values.
Transport providers needed verification before receiving freight assignments.
Detention and cancellation fees depended on shipment events and timing.
Shipper charges and carrier settlements followed different commercial conditions.
We needed one place to manage freight from the first quote to the final carrier payment. TechnBrains connected the processes our team previously handled across spreadsheets, calls and documents, giving us better control over how every load moves through the business.
Lulo Freight relied on Excel-based quotation calculations, phone and email updates for shipment locations, and separately maintained carrier and delivery documents.
Detention charges required reliable arrival timestamps, while cancellation penalties and settlement depended on shipment progress. Without connected workflows, teams had to coordinate pricing, shipment events, supporting evidence and financial decisions across separate processes.
Freight quotations calculated manually in Excel
Shipment visibility dependent on calls and emails
Carrier verification and delivery documents handled separately
Detention charges lacking consistent arrival evidence
Payment and cancellation rules disconnected from shipment events
Lulo Freight needed a single workflow where every load event, from quotation and driver arrival to delivery and settlement, could be tracked, verified and acted on without manual coordination.
TechnBrains built a shipper portal, carrier portal, driver application and administration console around one load lifecycle. The platform connects quotation, carrier assignment, shipment tracking, delivery documentation, detention calculations and payment processing.
Shippers enter freight details and receive three calculated quotation options. Pricing uses configurable inputs, while loads valued above $100,000 trigger an insurance-related flag.
Verified carriers access available freight, respond to loads and assign drivers. Administrators manage carrier approvals and manual assignments.
Drivers record pickup and delivery events with GPS-supported location checks, photographs, notes and signatures. The system applies a one-mile geofence requirement to arrival and delivery confirmation.
Shippers, carriers and administrators can monitor load progress through GPS tracking, with shipment status, digital BOLs, signatures and photographs maintained together.
Stripe supports payment processing, while shipment events connect with detention rules, cancellation penalties and the five-day post-delivery settlement window.
TechnBrains structured the platform around a shared load record accessed by the shipper, carrier, driver and administrator applications.
Laravel and MySQL support load management and workflow data. Traccar provides GPS information, Twilio handles SMS and verification, and Stripe supports payment processing.
Location-confirmed arrival events provide timestamps used in detention calculations. Digital delivery evidence is attached to the load, while delivery confirmation connects with the settlement workflow.
Pricing coefficients and administrator controls replace spreadsheet calculations, allowing quotations and commercial rules to operate within the same system.
This creates a traceable relationship between shipment activity and the charges associated with it.
Lulo Freight gained a platform connecting the commercial and operational stages of a shipment. Quotations, carrier assignment, tracking, delivery evidence, detention and settlement now operate around the same load record. Teams can reference recorded events when reviewing charges and payments instead of reconstructing shipment history across spreadsheets, emails and paper documents.
| Before | After |
|---|---|
| Freight quotations calculated in Excel | Three automated pricing options |
| Shippers requested locations by phone | GPS shipment tracking |
| POD and BOL records maintained separately | Digital signatures, photographs and documents attached to loads |
| Detention calculations lacked consistent timestamps | Location-confirmed arrival events support detention rules |
| Settlement handled outside shipment workflow | 5-day post-delivery settlement process |
TechnBrains assigned a nine-member dedicated team to build the marketplace across shipper, carrier, driver and administrator workflows.
The engagement covered automated quotations, load matching, carrier management, GPS tracking, proof of delivery, detention, cancellation rules and settlement.
The project demonstrates our logistics software development capabilities and the workflows required in a custom freight management system.
In freight operations, an arrival timestamp can determine a detention charge, and a delivery confirmation can trigger settlement. We built these rules into the load lifecycle so pricing, tracking and payments work from the same recorded events instead of relying on manual reconciliation.
